The Land Between is a 320 mile self-supported ultra-distance bikepacking event, that starts and finishes in that little known space in between Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. A place we're lucky enough to call our backyard. The route takes in a mix of remote landscapes, farmtracks, bridleways, wooded single tracks, and urban settings — and just about everything in between — including a 300m ride through a tunnel 40ft beneath the River Tyne. We're told it can leak from time to time.
Northumberland is remote, and big. Renowned for its breathtaking beauty, rugged landscapes, castles, pristine beaches and a rich history, and we want people that love bikepacking adventures to experience this unique place. This is far from an ordinary event though — do your research and you'll soon discover that Northumberland is well known for it's dark skies, cold headwinds and a chance of 'anything is possible' weather. The event is tough, but we never said it would be easy.
Sign on will be on the evening of Thursday 21st August and the event starts at 7:30am on the Friday. You will have until midnight on Sunday 24th to receive a completion time!
You will be camping before the start of the event and when you return.
Camping and car parking is included for the weekend.

Food is not included but our fantastic hosts, The Rose and Thistle will be offering a pre-booked evening meal and breakfast option before the event and serving us all weekend.
