The Land Between is a 320 mile self-support ultra-distance bikepacking event, that starts and finishes in that little known space in between Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. A place we're lucky enough to call our backyard. The route takes in a mix of remote landscapes, farmtracks, bridleways, wooded single tracks, and urban settings — and just about everything in between — including a 300m ride through a tunnel 40ft beneath the River Tyne.
The event has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with riders discovering the stunning scenery, rich history, and unique culture of this often-overlooked corner of the UK.
With a superb venue and an extremely welcoming and inclusive vibe, the event has attracted many people for many reasons. Some of the fastest long distance riders have taken on the route (can anybody top Ollie Glen’s incredible completion of 25 hourrs and 10 minutes!). However, The Land Between is mostly about getting together with like minded souls and enjoying a huge Bank Holiday Weekend ride in the most beautiful surroundings.
